I’m a brand consultant, a photographer, a traveler, and an overall life enthusiast.

20 years ago, I wasn’t planning on becoming any of that. I was a teenager who liked math and figured working in finance was a way to get rich quickly and retire early. So that’s what I did. I mean the working in finance part. Not the rest.

I’d love to tell you that one day I woke up realising finance wasn’t my calling, quit my job, and set off into the sunset with camera in hand and personal branding on my mind. But my way of ‘chasing’ my dream was more like a slow but steady walk in a zig-zag figuring out on the way what it really was that I was ‘chasing’.

I transitioned from finance and the corporate world to a brand communication startup. While I was happy with the change, I kept feeling there was more to life so I decided to realise an old dream and left to travel Latin America for 6 months. Which became 8. Which became ‘I’m not going back to ‘normal life’.

I re-trained myself to become a graphic designer which I envisioned as my ticket to my new, location-independent lifestyle. My studies ignited my passion for branding but working as a graphic designer ended up being the push I needed to step up from a hobby to a professional photographer.

My love for branding remained even after I shifted my focus from design to photography. So discovering personal branding photography felt like hitting the jackpot. I naturally incorporated my knowledge of branding from graphic design into the shoot preparation process and enjoyed it just as much as taking the photos. It came so naturally that it took a client to point out that our shoot preparation meeting was in fact a mini brand consulting / strategy session.

It didn’t take much thinking till everything fell into place about what meaningful work meant for me.

Taking beautiful photos of people in a way that is fun and relaxed feels great.

Taking photos that boost people’s confidence in who they are and help them realise their dreams as they show up in their business feels invigorating.

Stepping out of the geographical limitations of photography and supporting people from around the world to give a real chance to their awesome ideas and create the life they desire feels – for me – truly fulfilling and meaningful.
